We have received two lost HCHS men’s class rings and want to find the owners. The first is 1976 – ‘Rich’ etched inside. It is belived to belong two – Rich Pelc or Rich Sawicki. The second is 1983 with Bob B etched inside. There is no Bob B who was a senior that year. Please help us restore these rings to their rightful owners. 1953 (SJ) Bertha Duchesneau Randall retired to ColoradoSprings in 2000. She wonders what became of her classmates and writes that would like to hear from anyone who can bring her up to date. In school she was always known as Bertha, a name she never liked, so she started going by her legal name of Marie. Her email is: marieduch@yahoo.com
1967 F. Joseph Loughrey was named President/COO,Cummins Inc., IN (fka Cummins Engine Company, Inc.). Joe has spent the past 30 years in positions of increasing responsibility at Cummins. He and his wife Debbie serve on the Community Advisory Council of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic.
1968 Rev. Thomas O’Connor is Director of Vocations/Retreatat the Glastonbury Abbey, a small community of Benedictine monks, in Hingham, MA.
1971 Douglas A. Bowen was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of PeoplesBank from his current role as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer. In his new role, Bowen will lead the bank’s day to day operations and oversee its expansion plans. Bowen serves on the several different boards. He’s a Trustee of Holyoke Community College, a Trustee of the Pioneer Valley Plan for Progress, a Director of Westmass Area Development Corporation, a Director for Loomis Communities, a Director of the Greater Holyoke Chamber of Commerce, a Senior Associate of the Risk Management Association, and a member of the Executive Council of Womanshelter Campañeras. He resides in South Hadley with his wifeAnna. They have two children, Michael and Mary.
1972 Barbara A. Moakler Byrne is Vice Chairman- Investment Banking Division, Lehman Brothers, Inc. She’s a member of the Board of Trustees at Mt. Holyoke College and lives in NJ with her husband Tom and their four children.
1976 Wayne Robillard writes that he is a firefighter/paramedic for the Town of Orleans, MA Fire Department.
1977 Marijean Lauzier is president and CEO of Waltham, MA based Racepoint Group, Inc., a global public relations agency for the innovation economy. She has provided strategic marketing and public relations counsel to the world’s leading technology, health and sciences companies. Prior to Racepont, Marijean was president and COO of Weber Shandwick, the world’s largest global public relations firm. Lauzier said her education at HCHS was “absolutely a world-class education,” one that incorporated a sense of community, “wonderful mentoring” and encouragement to address social justice and diversity issues.
1979 Jim Quenneville recently received NASA’s "Space Flight Awareness Award" for his dedication to quality work and flight safety. He is employed as a quality assurance specialist for the Defense Contract Management Agency. Monitoring defense contractors thr...oughout Northeast Connecticut, Quenneville ensures the parts they provide, including key components for the Space Shuttle Main Engine, are safe and delivered on time. Jim received a plaque and a scale model of the space shuttle. As part of the award he witnessed the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis last November the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
1979 Brian F. Moriarty resides in Hatfield, MA and works at Verizon Communications as a Network Service Manager. He’s been an active member of the Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee for 17 years. He and his wife Lynette have two daughters, Meaghan and Emily.
1982 Ray Fagnant, is the Boston Red Sox Northeast Regional Scouting Supervisor, responsible for New England, New York, New Jersey and eastern Canada. He’s served in the scouting department for the Sox since 1993. Ray played professionally in the Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Red Sox organizations as a catcher from 1987 to 1992. In 1999 he served as the American League bullpen catcher at the All-Star Game in Fenway Park. An activescout who spends as much time counseling college bound players as he does signing them to professional contracts, Ray is currently the Head Coach of the Boston Red Sox East Coast Professional Showcase Prospect Team, which competes in Wilmington, NC during the summer. Among the numerous professional players Fagnant has scouted and signed are Lou Merloni, Brian Rose, Carl Pavano, Manny Delcarmen, Craig Hansen, and Pittsburgh RHP Marty McLeary. Ray was also the recipient of the “George Digby Award” as Boston Red Scout of the Year in 2002 and 2006, the only two time winner of the award in the Sox organization. He lives in CT with his wife Susan and two sons, Christian and Matthew.
1982 Michael J. Lynch of South Hadley has been elected vice president of FlorenceSavings Bank’s commercial loan department. He previously worked for Easthampton Savings Bank. He’s a graduate of Westfield State College and is married to Kathleen Sullivan ’80. Their daughter Meghan Lynch is a member of the Class of 2004.
1986 Brian J. Rachmaciej is Principal of Chapin Alternative School in Chicopee, MA. Chapin is a public school which services emotionally and behaviorally disturbed students within the Chicopee Public Schools.
1989 Michael Romanowicz - After graduation I entered the US Army National Guard spending 9 months active duty for training, then attended UMASS for 4 years. Before graduating I began working for RadioShack as sales person, I left UMASS to take a position as a Store Manager. I have been with RadioShack for the past 17yrs holding positions as a Store Manager, Assistant District Manager, District Manager and now today I am a back to being a Senior Store Manager. I met a wonderfull girl, (Bridget Talbot, Chicopee Comp 89) right after graduation and married her 5yrs later. We have 2 sons Calvin (8) and Benjamin (7), and settled in Sheffield, MA in 2000. I lost Bridget to diabetes and a heart condition earlier this year, and today I spend most of my free time caring for my sons. I continue to work as a Senior Store Manager in Great Barrington, MA and to live in Sheffield.
1989 Timothy J. Currie. After graduation, I joined the Naval Reserve and trained as a Navy Corpsman (medic), EMT, and an O.R. Tech. I was in for 6 years, 5 with the Navy and 1 with the Marines. I am currently working at Baystate Orthopedic Surgery Center in Springfield, MA as a Surgical Technologist/First Assistant. I'm also attending UMass Amherst part time working on a bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine. From there I want to apply to Physician Assistant's school. I have lived in Ludlow, MA for the past 8 years with his wife Laura and three teenage daughters, Amanda, Sydney, & Michayla. They keep me pretty busy. It's hard to believe that it has been 20 years since graduation, but then again my hair is a little grayer; but only a little!
1989 Michael E. Cote currently is a Firefighter/EMT with the Barnes Fire Department, 104th Fighter Wing Barnes ANGB, Westfield MA for the past 9 years. Also serving in the Air Force National Guard, 104th FW Barnes ANGB as a Staff Sergeant in the Civil Engineer Squadron, Electrical Power Production section, working with the base's backup generators and Aircraft Arresting Systems. Works part-time for father Edward Cote, Class of 1968, as a licensed electrician. Married for 5 1/2 years. Lives in Springfield, MA, with wife Melissa, daughter Alyson 5, and son Timothy, almost 4. Hopefully there will be a 20th reunion in 2009 to catch up with old friends.
1989 Stacie M. Beecher Cote currently resides in Yorktown, Virginia with her two sons, 11 and 8. A military spouse of 17 yrs, recently seperated, and looking to reenter the workforce. Stacie dedicates her time to volunteering at the boys' school, special needs support groups, reading, and time with friends and family. The last few years have been ones of change and Stacie is looking to re-connect with any old classmates...she has email and myspace! Looking forward to hearing from people!
1989 Jennifer L. Brady Corridan received a degree in nursing from Holyoke Community College. She is a traveling registered nurse in CT.
1989 Christopher Pawlikowski - I work with the Hampden County Sheriffs Dept as a correctional officer. Served in the US Naval Reserves for 7 yrs. I received an associates degree in biology from Holyoke Community College. I've been married for 11 yrs. and have twin 4.5 yr. old daughters Emily and Katherine. I live in Chicopee, Ma. For those that remember me, the eye is doing fine. Just a few minor issues, but as long as I stay out of the way of baseballs I shouldn't have any problems.
1989 Jennifer Bianchi Lemieux is currently a visiting lecturer at Westfield State College where she teaches in the Physical Science department. Now that her children attend school full time Jen can focus on her passion for athletic competition by competing in triathlons. She completed her first tri in August 2007 finishing 2nd in her age (35-39) and 7th out of 81 women. In only her second race Jen finished in first place overall in the Women's Triathlon at Winding Trails, Farmingron, CT.
1992 Wendy Dean moved to the Netherlands in January 2006 to be with her boyfriend who is Dutch. They met in Montana in 2005 while hiking in Glacier National Park. They got married and welcomed their son, Benjamin, in 2007. Wendy speaks fluent Dutch and currently works as an English teacher in the local high school. She is planning her first trip home in December after being in Holland for 2 years.
1992 Lenny Jacobson can be seen in an episode of the TV show LAS VEGAS airing Friday December 7th, 2009 @ 10 PM on NBC and in an episode of the TV show OCTOBER ROAD airing December 17th, 2009 @ 10 PM on ABC. Also check him out in a Ebay commercial airing now. It's called State Fair and he wins a Red Mustang at the end.
1995 Kimberly A. Roy Swistak, an alumna of UMass, is working as a development assistant with Baystate VNA and Hospice in Springfield.
1996 Andrew Lafleur and his wife Melinda are the proud parents of a beautiful 13 year old girl, Ellen-Leigh Theresa Lafleur who they adopted back on November 20, 2009. Andrew is currently unemployed and is looking for work in the customer service field. Meantime his wife Melinda works part-time at Tapestry Health in Florence. We are also in the process of looking into adopting another child in the near future and will provide more details as they become available. Andrew is also looking to keep in touch with his classmates and they can email him at andy.lafleur@comcast.net.
2004 Tara Maroney graduated in May 2010 from Sacred Heart University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
